  1. 4 mark question
Religious believers would disagree with the statement because they believe that it is good to help others. In Christianity, in the bible, it says “ A new commandment I give you, that you love one another even as I have loved you.” Meaning that you should treat others, as you want to be treated. A Muslim would also agree because the religion has a lot to say about helping and treating people right. Muhammad encouraged others to help war widows and spoke out against injustice.

  2. “It is not my job to be socially responsible. Give two reasons why a religious believer might agree and disagree with this statement.”

A Christian may disagree with this statement because the bible says “a new commandment I give to you, that you love one another even as I have loved you” (john 13:34)
This quote means that we should love each other as he (Jesus) has loved us.

A Muslim would also disagree with the statement because one of the five pillars is to zakaat (give to charity), which is being socially responsible.

These viewpoints both show that religions teach their believers to be socially responsible.

  3. I think the videos were well structured and clear, which gave clear steps on how we will be able to get the full marks. It shows you what would get you each mark and what kind of quotes you will need. I think there should be a detailed answer showing what would get you the full marks at the very end and examples that will help you do the questions for GCSE.
I think if I follow the videos it will help me lot so I know what I need to do to get an A*

  5. Question 1:

‘It is not my job to be socially responsible.’
Give 2 reasons why a religious believer might agree or disagree with this statement…

A religious believer may disagree because they are references to social responsibility in sacred text.
For example the Bible states: ‘A new commandment I give you, that you love one another even as I loved you.’ (John 13:14). A Muslim would also agree because their religion has much to say about the idea of ‘social responsibly’ (or caring for those in need).
For example, A Muslim would refer to the example of the prophet of Mohammed, who often spoke out against injustice. He encourages Muslims to help war widows.

    Question 2:

Explain from one religious tradition the teaching about prejudice and discrimination…

Christians believe that it is wrong to be prejudiced; it is against their teaching.
This is because Christians follow the example of Jesus who didn’t discriminate against people two were different. He was friends with everyone, including women outcasts.
Jesus taught about prejudice and discrimination by telling stories like the ‘Good Samaritan’ which shows that you should be kind to everyone and live in harmony with others. Jesus taught that you should treat others how you want to be treated yourself, which suggest that you shouldn’t discriminate, as you would not like it done to you. Jesus thought that we should all live in harmony. Christians believe that it I wrong to discriminate or to hold prejudiced views as god created human equality, in his own image. We are told this in Genesis 1. This means everyone should be respected, as we are all God’s creation. And we all come from Adam and eve. This is why Christians see it as their duty to treat all people fairly.
There is also several biblical quotations that suggest that it is wrong to be prejudiced. For example, John 7:24 states: ‘Stop judging by mere appearance.’ All of these teachings show that Christians are not allowed to be prejudiced or to discriminate.

www: clear explanation and understandable. very good

    Q 1
A religious believer may disagree with this statement because in Islam, for example, one of the responsibilities of a Muslim is charity. In Christianity also, charity is also commended. This means that a religious believer will believe that it is their job to be socially responsible.

    Q2
In Christianity it is taught that prejudice is wrong and against their teaching. This is similar in Islam, where Muslims are taught that everyone was created equally by Allah.
